Summary: Nice to meet you! My name is Rebecca. I have been involved with providing childcare for a long time. My earliest experiences were in my church nursery on Sundays. From there I began to babysit for families in the community during the evenings and for special events. I also spent 3 summers as a cabin counselor at a 4-H camp. I was responsible for leading games and activities as well as supervising campers in a specific cabin and dealing with any issues that might arise. 4-H taught me a lot about working with children and because of my involvement, I learned many fun games to play and songs to sing with kids. After graduating high school, during my Christmas breaks from college, I worked at my local elementary schools as a paraprofessional where I worked on an individual level with children on tasks such as reading and math. Last Christmas break I also tutored a blind student in an after school program. I have extensive experience with special needs children. My youngest sister was diagnosed with cerebral palsy and as a result suffers from cognitive and motor coordination delays. Growing up, my family and I were always involved with organizations that supported my sister and other children who are in similar situations. We have been consistently involved with organizations such as: Stable Hands Therapeutic Horseback Riding, Night to Shine, and various types of therapies and speech programs. In addition to living with a special needs child, I've also worked in my local elementary and middle schools as a support staff substitute in the special education departments. I have supported students with tasks ranging from reading to math to physical education. I enjoy working with all ages of children and I look forward to meeting you and your family!
