Hi! My name is Sonia. I am a bilingual (Spanish and English) Elementary Education Major at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, expected to graduate in December of 2017. I was 18 years old when I received my first babysitting job, caring for two boys, ages 5 and 6. Since then, I have been a YMCA camp counselor, working with children ages 5 - 10, and I have been a student teacher since January of 2016. In the Spring of 2016, I taught Kindergarten and in the Fall of 2016, I taught 5th grade. I am currently teaching 3rd grade, and will continue to do so up until graduating in December. I am a firm believer in the Theory of Multiple Intelligences, and that all children are capable of learning if they are taught in ways that appeal to their unique learning processes. I love caring for children of all ages, and I love teaching!
