I am, A 69.5-year-old grandmother of 6, mother of 4, retired educator, lead founder of a charter school, free-lance writer and cook. I am in good health and quite active. I played basketball in high school and college and still play a little. I’ve been widowed since 2008 and retired since 2015. I raised one of my grandsons and after he left for college last year I opened a new chapter of my life. I proudly have four grandchildren as college students. I promised to be involved in the financial end for them all. I have a lot of freedom so I travel and enjoy it very much. I do, however, miss the routine of working. Factor in my need for additional income and therein lies my reason for applying for your open position for a Nanny. I am seeking a job as a Nanny after speaking with a doctor in Sewell. Considering my credentials and my love for children and their education, she encouraged me to consider child care as a Nanny through Care..... with an emphasis on education. According to an Oxford Learning Study, “On average, students lose 2 months of reading skills over the summer.” A simple and consistent reading program is the best remedy. Reading a chapter or two daily in a non-classroom setting is best, something like under a tree or at the beach. Reinforcing subject matter, like math or writing might include 5 math problems or one descriptive paragraph on something fun. Activities to reduce summer lost is best scheduled in the morning to keep learning times active. It also promotes a feeling of accomplishment and builds on a confidence that will be carried on into the next fall semester and beyond. He/she will have a great school year due to a few minutes consistently during the summer. Summer time is not the best time to learn new material unless the desire is high. On the side, summer time is the best time to strengthen learned skills. The goal here is not to consume time but to master consistency and maintain what was learned. Also, to provide a structured and safe environment with educational and fun activities. I believe life is a classroom and everything is a lesson, It is my responsibility to make the most of every moment to insure optimum positive results from that experience. I will be of the best service to a family who keeps education alive throughout the year. I am an excellent cook and submit the offer to prepare delicious and healthy lunch and dinner meals according to instructions. I am not a housekeeper and will not perform those duties. I am very flexible with days and times and will conform to various schedules. I have my own insured and reliable transportation. I pride myself at being dependable and punctual. I am looking for an hourly pay of $25.00 per hour for 5 days a week. I am not beyond a negotiation. Even though I present this resume-summary in the place of a traditional resume, I hope I was successful at introducing myself and making my requirements clear. I can gladly provide references however I have no Nanny background experiences. Nevertheless, I am most definitely a “Nana” to Nazeer, Logan, Jahmier, Shane, Jordan and Jazmine.
