A Bit About Me: I'm Kristina Adler, and I currently taking a year off from pursuing my Master's degree in Speech, Language and Hearing Sciences (speech therapy) at the University of Missouri. I have always been a dedicated student, but I knew it would be best for me, as graduate school is quite rigorous! My Resume In A Nutshell: I've been working at a residential mental health facility (Missouri Girls Town) for the summer, where I am a Youth Care Worker for young girls have been severely abused and/or neglected. Though I love every client at MGT with, I was recently injured and am hoping to find a job for the rest of the year that won't put me in the hospital! :) As a graduate clinician at the MU Speech and Hearing Clinic, I gained experience working with children ages 2 to 18, with a variety of speech-language disorders, including autism. I spent a summer working in our language preschool, carefully creating lesson plans to work on language through crafts, reading, and other fun play-based activities. In addition, I worked at Our Lady of Lourdes for a year or so (while also working at Landmark Bank), providing after-school care to children ages 5 to 14 years. I also spent several years volunteering at a Reading Lab teaching twin girls to read and write. While I am trained clinically, I also babysat in high school, and definitely know how to have fun with kids. I love to make them laugh, to be goofy with the younger ones, and overall to just make sure they are happy and having fun!
