Hi, I'm Michael. I currently work with a 13-year-old non-verbal autistic boy in the mornings. Daily schedule includes transporation, life skills, meal preparation, physical and mental activities all geared towards a goal of having him live each day to his most productive potential. While all days may exhibit highs and lows my objective is to maximize the good times and work on alleviating and make more tolerable the more challenging situations. To this extent I have unlimited patience and experience in dealing with the extreme mood swings often exhibited with autism. My previous experience (15years) was assisting in the afternoon care of a family of seven children which involved transportation, food preperation (snacks), and homework help. My interest outside of working with autism is coaching. For the past 21 years I've coached 10-18 year-old girls in travel softball, a year round endeavor which allows me to deal with multiple personalities but still with the same goal of maximizing the girls potential.
