In a nutshell, I love kids! (And I'm super fun, so the kids love me too!) I'm the oldest of 10 children, so I started tending kids at a young age. I'm a hands on kind of person, and I like to get down on the floor and play with the kids, instead of just supervising! I love games, singing, reading stories, imaginative play, etc.... I also love animals, so pets are no problem!! I was a Nanny for a few years when I was first married....and LOVED it! I also cleaned their home thoroughly once a week (bathrooms, mopping, wiping blinds, laundry, everything!). When I had my daughter, I wanted to be able to stay at home with her, so I started and ran my own in-home daycare. I did that for almost 10 years. I had a very structured schedule that included preschool activities (teaching letter recognition, letter sounds, colors, numbers, and writing), singing time, nap/quiet time, story time, snack times, outdoor play, and so forth... I had kids of all ages (kids ranged in age from 3 months to 9 years old). School aged kids caught the bus from school to my home, and we'd do homework/tutoring if needed, have a snack, talk about their day, and then play! The past year, I've worked as a Kindergarten Assistant at a Charter school. I was also a substitute teacher for grades K-6 on occasion. I worked with my Kinders (morning & afternoon classes) one in one in reading, math, spelling, and phonemic awareness. I also worked in groups with them at times. I supervised/played at recess (outdoor play, dancing, yoga, running), specials (art, music, library). I love the feeling I get, and the look on their little faces when they finally get something they've struggled with! Their own "aha moment!"...its such a great feeling knowing that you helped them achieve that! It's why I do what I do, and why I adore working with kids! I have my own vehicle, and love to do fun things with the kids like going to the zoo, children's museum, play at the park, story time at the library, etc. I'm also able to drop off/pick up from school, drop off/pick up from extracurricular activities, supervise play dates, and so on. I am also a very neat person (just a tad ocd, lol) so i also consider tidying up part of my job, as well as teaching the kids to pick up after themselves. I'll do meal prep, dishes, vacuuming, dusting, etc. I can also iron a mean crease! Truth be told, I love ironing! I offer full cleaning services once a week for an extra fee. And I do great work! I have excellent references available upon request! I'm very trustworthy and dependable. I'm also a mom, so I know the decision to leave your child in the care of someone other than yourself is not one that's taken lightly. Thanks so much for taking the time to view my profile!
