ingrid was only supposed to be with us for 3 days in 2005 when i was on bedrest with second baby and my husband was going out of town. by the end of the first day we had decided to ask her to be our nanny. we had never even planned on having a nanny! my kids are now almost 15 and 11 1/2 and ingrid is still part of our family. she is amazing with babies. she loves playing with the toddlers and going to the park. when kids are old enough for homework, it gets done before playtime. bathtime is not an issue. it is mandatory. she is she is bold where i was shy, and taught me many things. parents of my children's friends felt very comfortable leaving their kids with her, and having her drive carpool. she arranged playdates, took them to my gym, swim leasons and sports. she took them to the doctor and even helped serve hot lunch at school! when my kids were young, she came on many vacations and to many family celebrations with us. she knows all my relatives from aunts and uncles in florida to sister-in-law's sister-in-law in boston. she knows my friends in NY. we have been to her family's celebrations as well, though meeting her just hours old first grandson was the definite highlight. she has a great outlook on life. her love of travel has given her a wealth of exotic things to talk to the kids about. she learned hebrew words along with my children and can put together legos faster than i have ever seen. sunhats and waterbottles here, mittens and hot cocoa back on the east coast for winter, she is always prepared. she helped with science projects, reading logs, and school costumes. and no one was more important than ingrid the night of the daddy daughter dances. she made my little girl a princess each year. an aside, she even helped my mom with my aging step-father when he would not accept help from anyone else. yes, i recommend ingrid. she is like a sister to me. you may call if you have ANY questions.
