I was born and raised in Egypt for 13 years of my life. I have always been in an international school back in Egypt, meaning that I was taught in both English and Arabic my whole life. I then lived in the United Kingdom for a year and a half, then came to Canada in 2014. I am a student at the University of Toronto, currently studying Political Science as my Major. I have always enjoyed being around children, and volunteered at Plasp and Playful Pals program at the John Fraser Secondary School in Mississauga. Likewise, I have taken several courses that study Human development throughout the lifespan, Children and how they learn through play and a Raising healthy children course, in which I have studied the development of the human brain as infants grow older. Adding on, I am familiar with the different approaches towards learning and certain theories that famous psychologists developed on raising children, such being Piaget, Erik Erickson, Maria Montessori etc. I have had the privilege of taking these courses in a Play School Program, in which we interact with toddlers or children between the ages of 1-4 years old, three times a week and engage in multiple activities with them. Personally, I have always felt that being around children and taking care of them is a privilege that brings joy to my day and in which, I look forward into keeping this attitude for the rest of my life, as it is important always have the ability and kindness to take care of others especially younger ones.
