Sitter in Covington, Pennsylvania

My name is Rebekah Schmidt. I am an 18 yr old high school graduate. For 3 summers I have babysat and cared for two children now ages 6 and 9 working 10 hr. days 7:40 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. Monday-Thursday each week. I have experience caring for local children, and in church ministry settings such as Nursery (ages newborn-3yrs old) and Junior Church (ages 4-12). I am very active in my local church, and regularly volunteer to work with children. I am also active in my churches Music ministry which requires me to attend church Sunday Mornings and Evenings, and Wed. nights from 6-8:30 p.m. each week. My church also requires adult workers 18 and up to complete Child Abuse Certification clearances with the Pennsylvania Department of Human Services when working with children of any age. I have completed the application and currently possess an electronic, and paper certification of my clearances. I have also cared for my 3 brothers whom each possess(ed) neurological/physical disabilities (ADHD and Asthma, Autism/Heart Condition, Epilepsy/Sleep Apnea). I am very comfortable with animals. I have pets of my own and have worked on goat and dairy farms, and I have some experience in treating animals for illness. I am capable of performing household chores such as laundry, dishes, cleaning, preparing meals etc. as needed. I personally am Gluten and Lactose intolerant. A few members of my family also have moderate to severe diet restrictions, therefore I am somewhat familiar with recognizing bodily reactions due to allergies or intolerances from foods or medications. I love children dearly! I truly believe that it is the responsibility of each person, adult and teen alike, to with every fiber of their being, strive to be an example of one who is pure of heart. The children of today will one day raise and nurture the children of tomorrow. We are to be fervent in guiding our children to seek to do that which is acceptable in the eyes of God. We should teach our children to strive to be the best version of themselves that they can be, and to want to make a difference in the world. Not for their own glory, but rather for doing their best to make a genuine lasting and meaningful effect on the lives of others.
