Sitter in Halifax, Nova Scotia

Hi there! I am looking for a part-time or full-time childcare position in Halifax. I am very passionate about teaching and working with children. I have recently moved to Halifax, though I have been a nanny and a babysitter to many families in both Montreal and in Calgary. Prior to studying in Montreal, I had a wonderful opportunity to work as an au pair in Lucerne, Switzerland for 6 months. During my time as an au pair, prepared healthy meals, supervised sports and school events, organized daily activities, and provided childcare weeks at a time while the parents were away for business. During the summers of 2015 and 2016, I was involved with an organization called Little Hippies (now called Wymbin Yoga)- where I would teach yoga and mindful workshops to children at summer camps. I take pride in teaching creativity, movement and co-existence to children, and I am happy to incorporate this in daily activities. I have since worked as a camp counselor at the Concordia Multi-Sport Camps, where we would teach children various sports of which include, football, soccer, netball, basketball, volleyball, track and field, rugby, gymnastics, and hockey. My experience working as a camp counselor challenged me to think both creatively and critically, adapt to unexpected events, plan accordingly and communicate effectively. I am comfortable with caring for children between the ages of 6 months to 14 years old. Much of my experience is caring for infants and early childhood, so I understand the importance of structured routines and activities that foster educational development. I am happy to help with tutoring, pet care, daily errands and light house keeping. I am very energetic, artistic and I love spending time outside.
