Hello, my name is Lindsay. I am a fun-loving, positive person with great patience and a genuine desire to help. I love working with children and families because being able to connect with and see improvements in the children I work with is very exciting and rewarding, and my role as a Special Needs Worker has given me an even greater passion and determination to help support the needs and quality of life of others! I have over 2 years experience as a Child Care Provider and Special Needs Aid taking care of children in home, preschool and community settings, and have been trained under various teams of therapists including Psych, OT and SLP. I also have about 10 years of babysitting experience, but my role as a Special Needs Worker requires me to go above and beyond the usual caregiver requirements, and I love coming up with fun and exciting ways to help children learn and develop through play. I am currently working as a Child Development Worker taking care of a child with Williams Syndrome, and as a Preschool teacher taking care of up to 8 children at a time. This experience has further developed my ability to adapt and cater to each child's needs, and come up with engaging and encouraging methods that make learning fun! I am very encouraging, empathetic and energetic, and I love arts and crafts and being outdoors. In my free time I enjoy painting, drawing, making hula hoops and crafts, sewing, playing guitar and piano, meditating, hula hooping and playing sports.
