Hello my name is Leah Metallo, I am 20 years old and attend the University of Rhode Island. I am a responsible and caring caretaker who loves to have fun although safety is my main focus. My experience began lifeguarding where I watched children in and around the pools to make sure they stayed safe. I have worked at an elementary school in the after-school and summer program, watching students from grades 1-5, creating and carrying out various activities. During my senior year I got the great opportunity to intern during the day with a fourth grade classroom. My favorite part of working there was being a positive role model to children while also gaining valuable lessons on how to manage any situation that may arise. Now, I occasionally substitute assistant teach at elementary schools when home from college. Over the years, I have babysat for many different families with kids ranging from ages newborn-13. I assisted with meal preparation as well as household chores, have experience with twins, newborns and watching large groups of kids at a time. I love to create new and exciting activities, crafts and games to share with the children I babysit. I always bring my craft bag and believe it is important to be outside and active as much of the day as you can be. Bringing lots of energy and creative ideas, I am always up for an adventure and keep kids entertained throughout the day.
