Hi! My name is Maureen. I have been a nanny for 13 years. I have been a part of my current family for 9 years, but they are moving to New York, so I am looking for another long-term position. I have a flexible schedule. I began working with them when their boys were 2 mo. and 4 years old. We did many great activities together: arts and crafts, reading, trips to the parks, zoos, and museums, lego building, cooking, etc. During the time I was with them I treated each boy as an individual. Consistency of routine, guidelines etc. was always important with myself and their parents was essential. Communication between us was key. As the boys got older I also assisted with homework and planning/ transportation to after school activities. It was a joy watching them grow up, learn about the world around them, and just take the time to relax and take time just to be :):) The prior family I was with for nearly 3 years. I began with them before the birth of their very loveable twin boys. I also helped care for their curious 3 y.o. sister, and her fiesty 6 y.o. brother. caring for the children of all different ages was a wonderful adventure each day!! I became very adept at organization, timing, and multitasking!! The children that I cared for took priority, and certainly kept me busy, but if time allowed, I most certainly would help out with laundry, meal prep/meals, dishwasher and other lighthouse keeping. To tell you a little bit about myself. Before choosing my career as a nanny, I raised my son who is now 20. Earned a Master's Degree in Child Psychology, and worked as a home based therapist/case manager working with children with special needs. I have a calm easygoing personality... but I love to laugh and have fun!! In my spare time I read, hike, love to cook ( so preparing healthy meals and snacks is fun for me.... especially if the kids are old enough to help out!!), keep fit, and give my dog lots of TLC!! I am very thorough and punctual. I have a clean driving record and drive a safe car. I am comfortable transporting your child/ren to their favorite activities.
