Sitter in Centennial, Colorado

Summary: My approach to childcare is to foster independence and curiosity while always making myself available to tie some shoes, apply a bandaid or figure out why the DVD player isn't working. I am new to Sitter..... but have experience caring for children of varying ages. I was a red cross certified babysitter in high school and worked as an overnight camp counselor with children ages 5 - 16 for three years. There, I taught creative writing, art and rocketry - a wide variety of tasks that now give me the skills to always have craft ideas on hand for all children. I have a B.A. in Journalism and French from Temple University in Philadelphia, so if you have any needs for light tutoring or help with homework, or just some exposure to a second language, I am happy to accommodate. I primarily prefer to work evenings (hellooooo, date night!) because I am a professional marketing content writer downtown during regular work hours (with some flexibility to work remotely, so if a specific opportunity seems feasible I'll likely apply). One of the things that makes me an excellent caretaker is my ability to cast judgement aside and really let others, especially children, express themselves. I adapt to each household's rules while striving to have everyone I work with and for feel comfortable enough to come to me with concerns, share their opinion or just chat wildly about nonsense (that last one applies more to very young children, lol). Description of Skills: I have experience with play date supervision, overnight care, and swimming supervision. I have personal transportation available.
