Sitter in Mankato, Minnesota

This last summer I was a camp counselor at the YMCA in Mankato. I worked with kids aged 5-12, but I can work with any ages besides children younger than 1 year old. I loved working with the kids over the summer. I also have two younger siblings who I have to take care of my whole life. At my job at the YMCA I made sure every kid was having a good time. If any of the kids looked sad or distant I made sure they got engaged with other kids or the group activity. I often played with kids myself to make sure they were having fun. All the kids would say I was fun to have around. I also had to be firm and make sure they followed instructions. I made sure they weren't causing trouble and they listened to me. I love to be outdoors and active. I was the swim team captain, ran cross country and golfed at my high school. I know a lot of activities that keep kids entertained. I have had experience with soccer, basketball, tennis, baseball and many other sports. I would much rather play outside with kids than sit and watch TV with them. I also have experience working with kids that would rather stay inside. I love playing board games. If a girl would like to play dolls or something other than playing outside I would love to. I have a younger sister who would make me play barbies and “house” with her when I was growing up. I can cook most foods and can help with any types of homework. I have a dog and have had guinea pigs so I am comfortable with pets. I have had first aid and CPR training. I am available to work anywhere in the Mankato area and contact me using any method.
