I want to stress that I would be an excellent candidate for this position based on my love, passion, education and over twenty years of experience working with families and children in the Human Service field. I will perform complex and diverse duties in support of the children and my families. I am a mother who went back to school to get her degree while raising her children. I have worked as a teacher in Early Education for over 20 years. My career in the Human Service field began as an Assistant Teacher at the age of 15 in the infant/toddler classroom at The Henry Buckner School in Cambridge. My responsibilities have included but not limited to supervising and utilizing various activities aimed at distinctive learning styles and developing plans base on family’s need. I am a learner who is eager to enhance my knowledge. Through my years of experience, I have held the role of President of the PTO, overseeing the budget, writing grants, managing people and events and I have become skilled in management as the lead teacher for several years. I have a strong knowledge of interviewing techniques, the ability to assess, prioritize, and organize multiple tasks simultaneously. I maintain accurate records of information provided orally or in writing and the ability to exercise sound judgment and discretion when handling confidential information. I have the ability to interpret explain and apply the provisions of rules, regulations, policies and procedures, and to gather and assemble items of information through questioning, interviewing and by examining records and documents. I am motivated by the community in which I work and the surrounding communities and my drive for success have given me the ability to communicate ideas and information effectively both oral and written. I am Director Certified by the Department of Early Education and Care and have completed my Associate degree in Early Childhood Education and my Bachelor of Science in Human Service Youth Development and my Masters in Organizational Management and Leadership. My education is very important to me and thus has encouraged me to continue my education while raising my own children. I have a passion for learning and I have maintained grades allowing me to be named on the Dean’s List since my time at Springfield College. Through my education and training, I have gained knowledge of the developmental patterns of families that allow me to be open-minded and nonjudgmental.
