Hello! My name is Maria and I have a passion for working with kids and adults with disabilities. I grew up with two older brothers on the autism spectrum and I have vast experience in working with individuals with autism, as well as other developmental disabilities such as down syndrome. Since I was in high school, I have worked in several school programs for kids with disabilities, worked with a company that takes adults with disabilities on trips, been a counselor at a camp for kids and adults with disabilities, as well as being an intern for an advocacy company for individuals with special needs. I am currently in my second year at UNL pursuing a psychology degree with the intention of being a therapist for kids with autism. I have a passion for working with this population and I am looking for more opportunities to further my experience as well as provide help and build relationships with the people I work for.
