I am 22 years old and have no children of my own. I have 10 brothers and sisters. I raised four of my brothers while my parents worked. I also took care of my niece until she was four, for the first year I was still in high school. So balancing a baby and my senior year was challenging but I graduated with a 4.0. My niece also had a speech problem. I worked with her every day and in two months she was speaking in full sentences. I recently began taking care of a 58-year-old lady who had a stroke and is now paralyzed on her whole left side. We enjoy each other's company and I am in love with her two cats (Venus and Lily). We also recently started sewing a baby blanket and taking walks (before I started working for her, she would never go outside). I love taking care of others. I have found it my personal goal to help as many people as I can before I leave this earth. I love looking after children and being around children they bring me so much joy. After my miscarriage I realized that I did not want to continue working in such a stressful environment (I was working in a restaurant) and wanted to work around children and the things that bring me joy. I enjoy cooking and baking. I love seeing the look on the children's face when I tell them they can help me shape and decorate cookies or pancakes. I was also a teacher's assistant during my senior year of high school. There were two young boys who had learning disabilities and were way behind the rest of the class. By the end of the 2nd semester they were with the rest of the class and even reading the books during reading time. If felt so amazing to tell their parents that they would not be held back another year and how far they have come.
