Are you looking for a wholesome HOME BASED daycare environment for your child? My name is Stephanie and I live in the Maineville area, near the intersection of 22 & 3 and 48. Recently, I resigned from a 12 year long career as a chef to spend time with my adorable 3 year old grandson, Liam. I spent the first 7 years of my career as a chef working at Cincinnati Children'€™s Hospital Medical Center. The other 5 years of my career were spent working for a local school district as the director of food service, health and wellness. Prior to working as a chef, I owned a home based daycare on the west side of Cincinnati for over 7 years. Choosing a daycare environment for your child is one of the most important decisions you will ever make. You are entrusting someone, often a stranger, with the most important "thing"€ that you have, your precious child. I understand how difficult this decision is. Before I started my home daycare business, I had a lucrative career at P & G. However, after 2 years of having my youngest child in daycare, my husband and I decided that it would be more beneficial for our son if I stayed home with him. We wanted to instill into him the things that we felt were most important for his development. Things like security, morals, and manners. Things that are often found lacking from large daycare providers that see your child as enrollment numbers and revenue, instead of as a sweet and innocent child that needs one-on-one interaction from an adult who truly cares about his or her well-being. One of the most important aspects that you will find in a home based daycare environment versus a large corporate based daycare structure is, your child will have freedom to spend his or her day in a caring home where he or she will have the freedom to move about without being restricted to one room for sometimes 8 to 10 hours! Although children need structure throughout the day, we are not limited to the amount of time we can spend on any specific activity. If your child likes to paint, he or she can paint while the other children are reading, or playing dress up, or watching his or her favorite Disney movie. We do not have to follow a strict schedule...€¦. On sunny days, we can go to the park, or take a walk in the neighborhood, or simply play in the yard for as long as we want. Most large daycare facilities follow rigid schedules in order to ensure the hundreds of children in their care are given their allotted time at each activity. I feel it is important to teach children the basics in life; table manners, how to play nicely with peers, and to have respect for him or herself, as well as everyone he or she comes into contact with each day. In addition to these important life skills, I will be very excited to help your child learn potty training, critical thinking skills, conflict resolution, and standard educational development like colors, letters, and many other essential basics€ that will ensure he or she is ready for pre-school or kindergarten when the time comes. I am also accepting children for before and/or after school daycare. I live in the Little Miami school district and can work with you to set up bus service to my home (if applicable) or provide pick-up and/or drop-off. Please contact me via private message, text or phone if you are interested in meeting to discuss how we can work together to ensure you child has a safe, happy and secure daycare environment.
