Hello, we are searching for 2 nannies to share jobs caring for our kids during the week. Below you will find a general description as well as specifics to each role and a little about us. I am a nurse practitioner and a teacher. I have been home with my kids for the past several months and before that my husband was the stay home parent. He has now rejoined the workforce and I will be rejoining in Dec. We have 6 kids. however, only 5 would be getting looked after. OUr oldest is 18 and a senior in high school. The children that would be looked after are 13 year old son , 6 year old daughter, 5 year old daughter, 3.5 year old son and 1.5 year old son. Our 13 year old has aspergers and our 3.5 year old is slightly hard of hearing and is on the high end of the spectrum. My schedule - I will be working in the hospital typically 5 days on / 5 days off. On my days off- I wll be home teaching a few hours a day live online. so on my days off- you would be here with me entertaining the kids during my class times and being available if I have appts myself or that I am taking my kids to. or so I can catch up on rest or cleaning. MUST love animals- we have 3 dogs- 1 is an old mastiff and gentle big guy, and 2 german shepherds who are and have gone through extensive training. they are still babie though- and 2 cats we want 2 nannies to share in the care of our kids because 1. we want to make sure should one be sick , we are not without childcare, 2. 5 kids is a lot and we don't want any one of our children to be neglected nor do we want our nannies to get overwhelmed , we figure if one is interacting w a cple the other can be with the other ones , and if one of our children has somewhere to go then one can take them to their appt etc while the other stays back w the other kids etc. We plan one to open and start the day - doing wake up, breakfast, etc and day will end at the end of school day and the other to come on a couple hours later and work til the end of day . Nanny role 1- Lead Teacher- this will be from 630am- ~330am Mon- Fri and on the days im home (which will vary) - the hours will be adjusted to likely 630-11 or12 you will know well in advance which days are your regular days and which are you half days... - this one we would like someone who is experienced in teaching preschool prek or K . Our children homeschool- I get all their materials together for the day- so all you would have to do is present it to them, give instructions, help them complete it etc. They work at the table together. We have a classroom/office as well that is stationed in a room where you can safely sit at the desk and see the family room, the kitchen and the dining room at all times. These lessons typically only take a few hours - don't have to be completed all at once if they get restless-- I typically do them 9-12 then we do lunch. Of course you are welcome to extend on their lesson for the day with anything you feel connects to it. If a lesson doesn't get completed , no stress about it -- I will be working on them with them on my days off. Our 13 year old son does his homeschooling online - you just have to supervise him and make sure he is completing the work and tell him which subject to do next, (which I have a teacher planner that lays it all out for him (and you) . Nanny Role 2/ Teacher assistant- This role will work either 8-5 or 9-6 and on my days home will be likely 11-4ish. You will know your schedule well in advance. This nanny will be responsible for assisting the nanny who teaches, helping with the 13 year old while the littles are doing their lessons, prepping snack and lunch, playing with any littles that wonder off from their morning lesson and then when Nanny 1 leaves for the day, be responsible for tending to the kids til one of us is home. My husband does usually get home by 4ish so it would be more so entertaining the kids while he gets home,, gets settled in and preps dinner etc. Both roles will be responsible in maintaining cleanliness of the space ) which is gated off , the rest of the house you do not have to tend to unless you were init with the kids, We do plan to offer incentives for any 'extra' housework completed outside of the gated area. We will require no later than 24 hours notice for call off as these are our children and our jobs. repeat call offs, we will end the position and search for a replacement. We understand circumstances arise, and will be understanding until it seems being taken advantage of. Pay-- there will be a 60 day trial period. We feel this is fair as this is what a general employer usually has (60-90 days) YOu will have 2 options- to be paid bi weekly on my husbands pay schedule or to be paid monthly on the 15th of the month on my pay schedule. You will be paid AFTER you have completed the work, so you work your hours then you get paid. We will not pay in advance for childcare not given. Nanny role 1 - the teacher- and opener For the first 60 days you will receive a pay of $9.00 / hour after the 60 day trial period- when my pay has kicked in and we have all decided this is a fit- you will receive a pay raise to at least $12.00/hr We plan to do annual evaluations on your anniversary for raise considerations. And bonuses throughout the year for the holiday and birthdays as well as incentive bonuses every few months for extras (ie cleaning outside the gated space etc) Nanny Role 2- The Assistant and closer- For the first 60 days you wil be paid at a rate of $8.00/hr - after the trial period when my pay has kicked in and we determine we are all a fit you will get raise to $10.00/hr We plan to do annual evaluations for raise considerations. And bonuses throughout the year for the holiday and birthdays as well as incentive bonuses every few months for extras (ie cleaning outside the gated space etc) Pay Extras- We will require CPR and First Aid- these will be paid for by us for you to complete. As well, we may send you for education classes in early childhood throughout the year of which we will pay for education we offer to send you to. Memberships will be provided as well to anything we get for our family- ie zoo, cosi, ymca etc Eventually, when a stable relationship has been developed - we want to provide optional insurances We will be looking into getting ourselves another vehicle in the spring-of which when we do we will be making my husbands sienna a work vehicle for your use while working with our children to transport them. Invites will be given to certain events and trips our family takes as a means to earn extra money when otherwise it would be time off. Our Hopes- It is our hope that the ones that take on the roles- become an integral part of our family and not just view caring for our children as a job but as a part of a family. Why choose us- This is a great opportunity for maybe a mother who wants to work while her kids are in school and be home when they are home and wants soe days where she only works a few hours and has the afternoon free for her own things to do. as well as growth in career and learning or someone who maybe likes to sleep in a little longer but still wants to be home by dinner time and wants some days where she has her mornings free to do her own things. Great for a chance to do a nanny role and have shared responsibility and lots of extra opportunities. We will also consider allowing a mom who maybe has 1 or 2 kids of her own that wants to work but cant cause she stays home w her own kids. Dependent on situation, we may consider allowing to bring children here to interact with our kids , however, you will be responsible for providing anything your child may need here as well as their own memberships for trips etc. We look forward to hearing from you soon.
