My name is Melanie, I am 18 years old and I live in Mesquite, Texas. I am currently enrolled at Eastfield College pursuing my dream as an elementary school teacher. My favorite subjects are anything to do with English (reading comprehension, essay formatting, etc). In my spare time, I enjoy reading, writing, and listing to music. I have two dogs; they are both chihuahuas, and their names are Dexter and Miley. My dogs are an important part of my life and I love them like they are my family. Teaching has always been a dream of mine. As a little kid, I remember lining up my teddy bears on my bed and teaching to them for hours. I have always dreamed of the day that I would be able to experience that "light bulb" moment in a student's eyes when a concept finally clicks in their mind. My ultimate goal as a future educator is to do more than just teach, I want to positively impact that student's life forever. I want each and every child that I come into contact with to use what I have taught them at a young age through adulthood. Despite where they may have come from, I believe that every child deserves a bright future. I believe working as a nanny will help me grow in knowledge about children and how they learn.
