Description: I hope you are having a good day! I have Full time openings for infants-5 years beginning April 1, 2019. Services And Training: Dear Parent(s), I am so excited that you are considering me to be your childs daycare provider! Let me tell you a little about myself and my Daycare. I have always had a great love for children! I started babysitting at a young age, took two years of Early Childhood Education in high school receiving student of the year, worked in Church nurseries, attended community college for Early Childhood Education and psychology. I was a preschool teacher for 2 and 4 years old and a Home Daycare Provider for over 17 years before becoming a realtor and substitute teacher in the Culpeper County elementary schools. My husband and I been together for 17 years. We have recently purchased a new home in a more convenient area for providing childcare, and I am so happy about the fact that I can once again do what I LOVE and fills my heart with joy! My two children were adopted when they were babies. I never once had to stop and think if I could love a child that I did not give birth to and I know that is because I love children so much! I try to go by a schedule, but it depends on the needs and ages of the children as to how close I can stick to it each day. Children seem to like routine. We do watch TV, movies or learning DVDs. They are all appropriate for young children. This does in no way make up most of our day as I do not believe sitting children in front of a TV for long periods of time with no human interaction! We color, paint (non-toxic), play music, dance, sing and play musical instruments such as rhythm sticks, maracas, jingle stick, tambourine, etc. We have a daily calendar where we discuss the days of the week, the weather and any holidays or birthdays, and more!. I introduce the children to colors, letters and the sounds they make and how to identify them, numbers and counting. The children will learn how to identify and/or how to spell their name. We learn about feelings, sharing, please and thank you. We have story time where I read a book and we discuss it. We play games and play outdoors when weather permits. I will gladly work with you on potty training your child. I do not believe in scolding a child if they have an accident. (to me its the same as if a child fell while trying to learn how to ride a bike, accidents happen!) I provide the children that eat table food with two snacks a day and lunch. We have milk or juice and the children are always offered water. If your child is on a specific diet you may provide the food for them. Children are so precious and they need to be and feel loved, happy and safe. When children are in my care, they are treated as I would treat my own.
