Hello! My name is Katie and I am a virtual student and Johnson County Community College based out of Lawrence, KS. I chose the virtual path so I could work as well as pursue my degree.
In the past year I have been working for the Boys and Girls Club of Lawrence, KS. I cared for children ages 5-8 on a daily basis for 8 hours, 5 days a week. I am also an AmeriCorps member. Feel free to look up the program and see our goals. During my AmeriCorps term I served children from various ages and backgrounds. I saw children who came from shelters or foster homes, I assisted children on the autism spectrum, and I helped kids who had troubled home lives. While working there I discovered my love and passion for children.
I want to make a positive impact on children's lives and lead them to being successful and caring young individuals.
I have experience with infants as well through my church nursery and other local babysitting jobs.

Katie Gleason is a very dedicated young lady. Katie had played a big role in VBS working the 3rd and 4th graders teaching them the importance of God. She’s also helped in children’s Sunday school and nursery at Church. The kids just adore her because she gets down to there level and the kids know when someone actually cares about them. Katie goes over and above making sure that each child feels special. I would highly recommend Katie to watch your kids.
