Sitter in Brooklyn, New York

Currently, I'm opening a group family day care in Bedford Stuyvesant in Brooklyn. My hours are 6am to 8pm Sunday to Saturday. I cater to children ages 6 weeks to 12 years old. Free transportation, if needed. I was a Head Teacher at a day care center in Greenpoint. I taught children ages 18 to 24 months. Based on my age group, learning is all about having fun. We do plenty of arts and craft projects that support the curriculum of the month. Also, we do a lot of movement activities because toddlers just can't keep still. I use to be a After School/Evening Nanny in Williamsburg taking care of a 5 year old. I picked her up from school, took her to the library, the park, or karate, we headed to her house, I gave her a snack, helped her with her homework if we didn't go to the library that day, gave her a bath, dinner, and put her to bed with 2 stories. During the summer, we went to museums, play spaces, the zoo, science center, and arts and crafts on rainy days. I have 30 years of experience in child care. I attend Kingsborough Community College, majoring in Early Childhood Education. I have 8 years experience as Owner/Head Provider in a preschool home environment. In my day care, I nurtured and educated many children from ages 6 weeks to 12 years old. I also developed a curriculum for each age group. My philosophy is children learn by doing, so my theme, letter, number, etc...of the week were hands on activities. I was the type of provider that wasn't afraid to get on the floor to play with my day care children. My passion is working with children and I enjoy watching them play, learn, and grow up. I take my responsibilities seriously and I would assure you of my integrity.
