Hi Parents and Guardians! If you are looking for someone who loves playing with kids, who loves reading, and doing crafts, who enjoys helping little ones with homework, and who is happy to snuggle with your infant - please consider hiring me for your occasional child care needs. I have been doing private, part-time child care for about five years. I have worked with infants as young as six months, two and three year old toddlers, as well as school age kids and tweens. I have also taught kids in every grade as I also have my Bachelor of Education. I do not find child care to be very stressful. This comes naturally to me. I am what you'd call "mature" as I am 40 years old, but age really is just a number. I currently have bubbles and sidewalk chalk in my backpack because -- well, you never know when you want to just stop, drop, and do some street art! Because I am older, I have lots of life experience, including years and years of experience with children. I started volunteering in various childcare settings (day cares, classrooms etc.) when I was a teen. That's easily 25 years of experience. Nothing phases me. Puke? Fine. Snot? No big deal? A meltdown because I handed someone the wrong fork at dinner? That's okay too. I understand. I've changed dirty diapers, bandaged fingers and have given kids medication when sick. I'm not really bothered by anything kids throw at me (well, not literally, throwing things at people isn't okay and we talk about that when necessary). I live in the Westboro/Hintonburg area and while I do not drive (by choice), I can get to most areas of the city by bus. I do however try to stay as close to 1 bus as possible because OC Transpo is garbage. If it's not too far, I'll Uber it to your house too - so no worries. I am really laid back, I work best with parents who are equally laid back and are happiest when their kids are happy. I don't mind doing some minimal housework but my main focus will always be on your kid(s). I will make meals for them, will clean up after them (if they are too little to help) and will tidy up the house if I am around during nap times or after they go to bed. Oh, and I am okay with pets in the house. I have a cat, I love dogs, I have had many a hamster, fish... even a rabbit. Pets are cool. Thanks so much for stopping by. I hope to connect with you soon!
