I am a Fairfax County permitted provider and am infant and child CPR/First Aid certified. My name is Jessi Driver and I am the primary provider at Duck Duck Daycare. I am fully invested in providing a safe, educational, and nurturing environment that will offer your child a strong foundation for their future. My love for children began at an early age when my mother started her own in-home daycare program. Seeing the lifelong relationships she formed with her families and the amazing experience I had growing up with so many children around, I knew that child care was the path for me. I began babysitting at the age of 12 and continued through my mid 20s. I completed a 3 year Child Development program in High School and continued on to West Virginia University where I pursued a degree in Nutrition with a minor in Family and Consumer Sciences with a focus in Child Development. This gave me the opportunity to student teach in many different classroom settings ranging from a special education preschool to a high school health class and everything in between. After college, I accepted a nanny position with a family that had 3 daughters all under the age of 5 and loved every second of it! I am still in contact with almost all of my families I've provided care for over the years and absolutely love getting pictures and updates of all of my kids. Shortly after my nanny position ended, I entered the professional world and started working my way up in the customer service field. I eventually became a full-time working mother of two and saw the need for affordable in-home childcare that feels like an extension of your own family. With the support of my husband and children, I decided to leave the corporate world and once again follow my passion. It is my mission to provide a loving and creative atmosphere that motivates your child to discover, apply new skills, and most of all feels like a home away from home. Duck Duck Daycare provides a developmentally appropriate curriculum individualized for each child's needs. Our monthly curriculum follows seasonally appropriate themes that focus on cognitive, emotional, physical, and social development. Children learn best through hands-on experiences. Duck Duck Daycare's curriculum emphasizes child-initiated more than teacher directed choices. We accomplish this through encouraging children to make decisions by offering many choices.
