Megan is a truly remarkable nanny. She's smart, fun, takes direction well, is extremely reliable and responsible and is always eager to find creative and fun things for the kids to do. Megan was our full time nanny for about 2 years for our 2 kids, who were 2 and 4 years old when she first started with us. Both of them are high functioning on the Autism spectrum. We still ask her babysit when she's in town. Megan plans well ahead of time and is incredibly thoughtful. When she first started working for us, we had just moved across the country and didn't have a lot of toys unpacked. Megan proactively brought her younger brother's train set to keep the kids occupied while we unpacked. She quickly figured out what the kids would enjoy and would often make recommendations for things they might like to do or places they might like to go. She would plan fun crafts for the kids to work on and got all the materials ready herself..and cleaned up the mess afterwards! She loved taking our kids to Disneyland and texted me photos of their visit without my having to ask. I always found these trips to the park exhausting simply because of all the walking, but Megan loved having fun with the kids and genuinely enjoys many of the kiddie activities so I never heard a single complaint. I'm pretty OCD about how things should be done and keeping things neat and tidy. Megan was able to accommodate my requests gracefully and often added her own fantastic recommendations once she started to learn my preferences. For example, she always restocked the diaper bag exactly as I had packed it after she took the kids out for the day. In fact, she'd look ahead on the calendar and have the kid's stuff ready to go for my next event with them! It was awesome to have everything ready to go as I was headed out the door. And even more awesome because I didn't have to ask. She just proactively did it to make my life easier and the house run more smoothly. The absolute most important thing is that our kids loved Megan. My 4 year old son thought Megan was actually part of our family. When it was time to hang the Christmas stockings, he was adamant that we needed one for Megan because everyone in the family needed to have a stocking. To this day, they still all run to the door to greet her when she comes to visit.
