My name is Mai, I’m a born-and-bred Upper West Side New Yorker who is fluent in Hebrew, English and competent in Spanish. A small synopsis about my personal life... I’m a daily practitioner of yoga, running and self-care in my free time. I primarily eat pescatarian and have a long Rolodex of healthy but tasty meals in my mental catalogue. I have an elderly cat at home, I also share a cat and dog with my boyfriend. I work full time as an accounting manager for Cushman Concepts during the week and as a result I love excel! I started my childcare career as a middle schooler in my apartment building for families with young children, usually on nights and weekends. I was fortunate enough to be a caregiver for a an Upper West Side family and their daughter for 7 years which included trips during the year where the parents were working and I would watch the child for over 50 hours a week, 8-9 hours a day. My childcare-style is rooted in realism, overwhelming calmness, a get-it-done attitude and gentle humor. I love not only taking care of children, but helping take care of the household even when that is not asked of me, just because I know that everyone (including me!) can breathe easier. My childcare is not only diplomatic and effective, I really do love helping guide children in the world through the growth in lives with the intangibles — advice, nurturing thoughtful questions and reflections, as well as a sense of play and whimsy in our time together. I would be more than willing to do any traveling, overnight care or anything additional you or your boys might need. I’m a big believer in supporting the parents in tandem with supporting the children, I am there for you as a family unit but paying special attention to the kids.
