Sitter in Halifax, Nova Scotia

Hi there! My name is Bethany and I am a 21 year old student at Saint Mary's University. I am originally from Ottawa, but I have decided to stay in Halifax for the summer of 2018. I am passionate about working with children and have over five years experience working with kids of all ages. I have a current Standard First-Aid with CPR-C and AED qualification, my National Lifeguard and my Red Cross Swimming Instructor certificate. I started off teaching swimming lessons when I was 16 and continued teaching until just last summer. Once I started university, I began working at an after-school program at a community centre in Halifax. This involved picking kids up from school and taking them to the local community centre, where we spent time doing activities, both in the gym and outside. I also volunteer weekly with a local speed skating club, where I help coach older school-age kids by planning programs including drills, games and cardio. Last summer, I worked full-time in a daycare in Ottawa, as an ECE Assistant. This involved planning daily activities, watching children, going on field trips and providing a fun, engaging and educational environment. I absolutely loved this job, and would like to have a similar experience this coming summer.
