Sitter in University Endowment Lands, British Columbia

I am currently a 4th-year Speech Science student at UBC who is hoping to be a Speech and Language Pathologist or an English as a second language teacher. I have been babysitting all ages since I was 12 years old, and after high school worked primarily with kids and adults with special needs. All of my experience has primarily been centred in Delta, however, I am looking to find opportunities closer to campus so that I can continue gaining experience with kids during my studies. My experience with Respite Care and Lifeskills involved taking the child into the community to work on community engagement, life skills and involved finding fun activities nearby. Life skills also involved teaching home skills like cooking, cleaning and personal care, so I am comfortable doing those tasks in a household and/or teaching the kids to become more independent with some of the tasks. I live on the UBC campus but have a car and am willing to go far off campus depending on the need. I also have Redcross first aid certification and CPI certificate (non-violent crisis intervention and prevention).
