Sitter in Woodland, California

Hi families! My name is Kiara; I'm Currently studying Child Development at CSU, Chico. My goal is to follow a 4-year bachelors degree program, and eventually get my masters to become a kindergarten teacher or a therapist. I'm passionate about painting, hiking and dancing on my free time. I have 2 brothers and 2 sisters, all under the age of 10. I've managed children from around 9 months-12 years old. In my environment growing up, there have always been infants, toddlers, and kids in adolescence and even teenagers in the house. I'm experienced with changing diapers, bottle-feeding, preparing homemade meals, bathing and putting kids to bed, etc. I have great communication skills. I'm experienced with a diversity of children. I've lead kids who come from affluent homes, but I’ve also managed children who come from a neglecting family. I am able to handle both sides very well, because I grew up in both sides, this has made me very self-sufficient. It's easy for me to relate to children and I know how to handle difficult and unpleasant situations. Along with babysitting I worked full time at a construction company in Vallejo, CA CSmarine constructors. I also worked at Owl Harbor Marina over in Rio Vista. I was an office assistant at both places, but I worked during different summers. My main responsibilities were cleaning docks and windows, scanning blueprints, and even gardening. These two jobs taught me to commit to my responsibilities and go the extra mile even when I don't need to. I commuted 2 hours a day (1 hour there and 1 hour back), and worked an 8-hour shift. I'm very self-sustaining and responsible. I have reliable transportation, I'm flexible with my schedule, and I can work overtime on short notice. I'm very understanding when things come up. I'd also be happy to meet for coffee or food in person anywhere in the Woodland area, Davis, Sacramento, Elk grove, Dixon, Etc.
