Sitter in Snow Hill, North Carolina

My name is LaRuth Anderson, I live in Greene County. Recently, I graduated from Greene Central High School with the class of 2016. I currently am a student at the University of North Carolina at Pembroke. I love working and engaging with children because I believe they're our future. Working with children has been a passion of mine since I was 17 years old. That year I worked at a Summer Camp and absolutely loved it. The kids taught me so much and I would apply again if I had the chance. Growing up my house was a "overnight daycare" basically because my mom was the person who everyone trusted with their kids. Learning skills and seeing my mom in action when I was little gave me the opportunity to put my skills that I learned from her to work and become available myself as a sitter. Loving being a sitter and working with kids so much I decided that when I went to college my major would have to do something with working with kids. The obvious choice was to become a teacher but what kind? So I thought long and hard and decided to become a Elementary Education major so I can work with students with grades ranging from K-12. Working will always be what I want to do with life and maybe one day I can move up to owning my own school.
