I am a young, energetic and enthusiastic woman that comes from a very large extended family. Being the youngest child in my family growing up, I was thrown into a world of babysitting when I was just a child myself. For the last fourteen years I have done everything from diaper changes to school tutoring. I have experience working with children of all ages and learning abilities. Aside from looking after my cousins' children nearly my entire life, I have volunteered my time to other causes that have broadened my resume in child care. While in high school, I volunteered my time to a local day care center working with toddlers to earn my community service hours. While lending a hand to that child care facility, I organized sing alongs, arts and crafts projects and playground games. Later in high school, I became involved in the Best Buddies program which makes it possible for students with special needs to develop advanced social skills while integrating them with the rest of the student body and involving them in normal curricular activities. During the time that I was involved with the Best Buddies program, I had the opportunity to work along side students with austism, downs syndrome and other disabilities. Through this I was taught patience and how to alter lesson plans to suit an individual's learning style. I believe that my past experience and values would make me an exceptional child care provider. It is important to me that I make each baby sitting experience educational and fun for the child while giving the parents peace of mind that their child is in good hands.
