I have been a special education or alternative school teacher for the past 15 years. I am now looking for a change of careers. Since I enjoy working with children and feel I have a lot to offer, I am seeking a nanny position. I have had a lot of training and experience in child development and behavior modification. I believe in creating a positive and safe environment for the child to feel safe and take risk. I believe in "time in" instead of "time out". I believe that kids need structure and guidelines should be able to talk about and question reasons. I am positive, kind and flexible. I have been a single mother and raised a successful 22 year old daughter who just graduated from college with a double major. I enjoy cooking and believe in good nutrition and eating habits. I am in my 50's but I am very active. I enjoy art, hiking, kayaking as well as traveling in my free time. I would enjoy doing activities and caring for your children.
