I have been caring for children since 1987. From the simple job of walking across the street to watching the neighbors' children for a few hours, to caring for them all day while the parents worked and on into working over-nights to allow parents that much needed time alone. I love kids. It's amazing to watch a child learn and grow. From newborns to teenagers, I've worked with them all. I grew up with two younger siblings and several pets over the years. Pets are family and should be treated as such. I love reading and writing. Music is an ongoing sound for me. It's always playing. I don't like a lot of television. I'd rather put a movie in than watch commercials all day. The important thing is that it's limited. The TV is not a built-in baby sitter. From January 2008 to August 2009 I cared for two boys, ages 8 and 5, part time. It was a great pleasure caring for them and watching them grow. I also cared for two older, special needs boys one full weekend a month. I cared for them in this fashion for about 2 years. I love taking children to Story Time at the library, as well as just going in order to find new books to read and check out. The local parks are also a lot of fun to get out and enjoy the fresh air and interaction with other children. I love seeing children watch and explore their world.
