Sitter in Vancouver, Washington

My name is Abigail Rogers. I am 20 years old and attending BYU-I but am currently off-track. I have worked with kids in a variety of settings and feel comfortable taking care of them. One of the settings I have worked with children is at Firstenburg Comunity Center's daycare. I worked there while I was a senior in high school and the summer before I left for college. I learned how to work with kids of different ages at the same time. I also dealt with conflict resolution and parent communication. Before I worked at Firstenburg I interned at a Columbia Springs summer camp. While I interned I learned a variety of games and cheap crafts to keep kids entertained. I have also worked as a babysitter for a couple different families. The most recent job I had I worked as a float and closer for a local daycare in my hometown. I was then promoted to the lead teacher position. In this position, I learned a variety of fun activities for children to do and how to talk them through it so that they can learn skills like problem-solving. I also worked with multiple disabled kids and kids with severe behavior problems. I learned how to de-escalate problems and how to prevent these tense situations from happening. I love kids of all ages and consider it a privilege to work with them.
