My name is Efia and I currently work part time in a program for children with autism. I've been working with children with autism for over 5 years and absolutely love it. I work with the children in a residential program so my duties include child care/support, teaching life/communication skills, homework assistance, participation in indoor/outdoor activities, transporting to school/after-school programs, cooking meals, and doing chores. I assist children with learning skills necessary to become independent adults. I believe that every child can learn. It just takes patience. I'm certified in medication administration and CPR. I have worked with children who used wheelchairs, were non-verbal, needed Epipen/diastat, required special diets/eating guidelines, required calming techniques, medication administration, training using communication devices (PECs book/iPad), and more. I'm not only restricted to working with children with special needs. I have experience working with infant to 2 years old as well. I can work in the morning/evening on week days and anytime on weekends.
