Dear Family, My name is Joanna. I am from the US (Illinois). I have worked in daycares as a teaching assistant for 3 years, have au paired for 5 months, and have been babysitting for 8 years. I have several certifications relating to childcare. I am CPR and First Aid certified (for both pediatrics and adults) and have a Water Safety training, Shaken Baby Syndrome training, and SIDS training. I also have lots of good ideas for sensory activities, gross and fine motor activities, and arts and crafts. I particularly enjoy working with kids ages 3-5 and have kept several lesson plans for that age range that I would be happy to share! :) If this still doesn't seem like enough experience, add in that I also have been babysitting for 8 years! I have looked after kids from all different cultural backgrounds -- from the Middle East to Europe to Australia. I really enjoy learning about other cultures and family lives and would like to expand my knowledge of that even further. So far, I have travelled to Australia, New Zealand, and Canada. I am ready to travel to new places! I am eager to learn and more than happy to offer all the help I can give. I can even teach your children some American Sign Language (and you if you're interested)! To get an idea of my personality, I like to spend a lot of time outdoors -- hiking, going for walks, swimming at the beach or in pools, having picnics, taking kids to the park (if I'm working...who are we kidding? I like going to the park anytime!). I also like to bake, listen to music, and sing my heart out! :) I am from a small family in a small town where we value tradition and always eat dinner together.
