Hi! This summer I will be returning back to CT as a recent grad of Colby College, while I wait to begin my next journey at NYU where I will be pursuing my Masters in Social Work. I would describe myself as an active, outgoing, spontaneous, loving, caring, responsible, and organized 22-year-old. I enjoy almost anything: athletics, crafts, music, and "playing" outside. My experience with children has been nothing but amazing, subsequently inspiring me to pursue my MSW with a clinical focus in children, youth, and families. For about 7 years I have been babysitting part-time for children ranging from 2 months to 12 years. In those positions I provide immediate care (meals, safety, entertainment, bed time, dishes), as well as transportation. While I took one year to test the waters in the corporate world at Cigna, I previously spent 3 years as a camp counselor at a local day camp where I was responsible for safety and fun of 10-15 kids on my own, while monitoring and engaging with the other 40 at camp. In this role I planned games, activities, crafts, plays, and provided safety on field trips and outings. In addition, I am also CPR and First Aid certified. Additionally, I have spent four years as a student teacher volunteer at an elementary school by Colby College, where I assist in a third grade classroom, planning daily schedules, providing one-on-one support, homework help, and friendship! And last, I have acted as a mentor to the same student for the past four years, beginning while she was 12. In that role I am a friend, role model, and tutor! With my experience, personal characteristics, and your guidance, I hope to provide the best care possible!
