Hello, Nice to meet you! My name is Torrey. I am looking for a family with parents who love being parents but are seeking a classical nanny when they cannot personally be there. I am not a nanny because I cannot find other work. I am a nanny because it is my career and I love it. Other people may not agree, but I believe there are few professions that are more important than being a nanny. I take great pride in helping give children a solid foundation so they feel confident, feel ready to follow their dreams, and ready to make this world a better place. I have extensive experience with infants and toddlers. I Have worked with children aged from 3 days to 14 years old. I have also worked with children who have special needs as well as working overnight shifts. I feel comfortable tutoring all subjects including math up to calculus. I do my best to make doing homework fun and rewarding. I do not believe in punishments because they can easily instill shame. Instead I like to softly discuss unwanted behaviors with children and offer time (time outs), to try again. I repeat this process if needed. I have always found children are born with an innate sense of fairness. If given the time and a supportive environment, they will make the right choices. I do not believe in plopping children in front of a television to distract them nor do I believe it is appropriate for me to stare at my phone while on duty. Instead I like to create a fun safe place for children to interact, learn, play, explore, and laugh.
