My name is Yamila A. Pachon and I'm originally from Colombia. I'm bilingual in both English and Spanish language and I have a great passion for working with children. I'm interested in your job posting because I'm looking for a full -time position as a nanny. I'm a nurse and I have over 10 years of experience working with adults, children, elderly, and disable patients in the Intensive Care Unit, Nursing Homes, and In-Home care settings. I have over 15 years of experience working with children. As a nanny, I've worked with kids ages ranging from 0 to 12 years. I assisted children with personal care, and prepared meals. I organized activities that promoted children's emotional, cognitive, and physical well-being. Also, I transported children to and from school and extracurricular activities. I maintained living areas clean and organized and followed parents' discipline style. I have raised three kids (two of them with acid reflux and colic), so I'm very patient and I have learned to get things done efficiently. Furthermore, I know how important it is to raise children in a warm, loving, and safe environment. For the past 4 years, I have worked as a Spanish Language and Culture Instructor for students in grades K-5 in Saint John's County Schools. Maintaining discipline in the classroom, planning and implementing fun lesson activities, and informing and working with parents were some of my responsibilities. I'm certified in adult, children and infant CPR, First Aid, and AED. In addition, I received a certificate for Redirecting Children's Behavior. I'm a non smoker, I do not drink, and I'm comfortable around pets. I’m flexible and I have my own transportation and a clean driving record. In my spare time, I love to volunteer in schools and for the HEAL foundation working with children with Autism and I enjoy exercising outdoors.
