Sitter in Redding, California

My name is Michaela Lunsford; I am originally from Iowa and have recently moved to Redding, California. I have a mission's degree from Victory Bible College and an Associate's Degree from Indian Hills Community College. I am looking to finish my bachelor's degree in education soon. As of right now, I am looking to start a job as soon as tomorrow. I have a lot of experience with children from ages 1 to 18. I worked for a daycare for 6 months. I was a teacher's aide in the 1 to 2 year old classroom. There I cared for, fed, changed, played, and taught the toddlers. I got to see these 1 year-olds learn to walk, talk, and develop their own unique personalities. I was in charge of up to 8 toddlers at once. It was busy and at many times challenging, but at the same time, very worth it. It has still been to this day, one of my favorite jobs. Also, while I was going to Victory Bible College in Tulsa, Oklahoma, I was apart of a kid's ministry at Victory Christian Center for 3 years. I started as an intern and moved up to a paid position of a part time speaker during the service. I attended in 3 services (Wednesday night, and 2 Sunday sermons). I was involved with kids from age 5 to 11. I led games, preached sermons, and taught a regular Bible study every Wednesday night to 4th graders. Also, while at the church, I worked for a summer program to supervise and prepare a 10 hour day for 4th graders. It was very busy, but I got to develop relationships with these kids and also learn how to keep all the kids accountable for their actions. I had as many as 12 kids. Finally, I have had a lot of experience with teenagers. I have been a youth leader at my home church for more than 5 years. While involved in the youth group, I connected these teenagers with each other, and led them in various activities before and after service. I also was a camp counselor for them and other youth groups for 4 years and was the female leader in 2 mission's trip (Guatemala and the Dominican Republic). Also, my previous job before I moved to Redding was a Bible and Spanish teacher for 7th through 12th graders. I had 3 Bible classes and 2 Spanish classes. It was one of the highlights of my life. I made, prepared, taught, and graded all the lessons and learned to interact and bring out the best in my students. While working at the school, I made 2 events happen that has never happened at the school before. I put together a local youth conference with games, food, worship and a sermon. I also was able to put together a High School drama production. Both were very successful. As I said before, I have much experience with kids and teenagers. Though I loved my teaching position and the youth group I was apart of, I had an opportunity to moved to Redding with my sister to be apart of the Bethel Church culture that we have dreamed to be apart of for a long time.
