Hello families! My name is Chelsea. I am a certified Child & Youth Care Worker registered under the OACYC (Ontario Association of Child & Youth Care Workers). I completed educational practicum hours through the SMDSB (Simcoe Muskoka District School Board) and obtained Institutional honours at my time of graduation. I have over eight years of experience working in the direct care of children and youth with various learning and medical care needs. My experience and educational background will surely correlate with my passion and ability to care for your child(ren). I withhold many degrees earned through College and University specializing in the human service and healthcare fields. These include, Child and Youth Care, Bachelor of Arts Human Service Major, Medical Administration, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, and Counselling Women. Over the past seven years, I have completed CPR level C, Standard first aid, SafeTalk, Safe Food Handling examination, Mechanical Lift & Transfer training, Behavioural Management Systems (BMS) training, Non-Violent Crisis Prevention Intervention (NVCPI), ORCA training, Kids Help Phone Training for Crisis Line Responding, Health and Safety Awareness Training through the Simcoe Muskoka District School Board. Some of these certifications have expired as I am not presently working in the field (more to follow on this below), however, I do have proof that I have the necessary training in all of the aspects above. Obtaining up-to-date certifications in any of the above can be discussed if it is a requirement of yours. In addition to the above, I can promise a clean criminal record check, vulnerable sector check, and clean driving abstract. I have a reliable SUV and hold a G-level driver's license. I am presently employed at a Retirement Home as a Medical Office Assistant (receptionist). I have been employed with this employer for over eight years with experience working in medical admin, dietary, and activation. I understand various dietary restrictions and requirements, along with the importance of social interactions and developmental competence. In addition, I am also a recognized Direct Support Worker through Catulpa Community Support Services, with documentation to verify. I am not presently working full-time and have some flexibility with my schedule to be a support system for your family/child(ren). If you are looking for a primary tutor for your child, homework help, a 1:1 support worker for your child for a few hours a week to help guide your child in one (or a few) aspects of daily living, I am happy to use my experience and expertise to alleviate this for you. If your child struggles with meeting developmental milestones, sensory overload issues, mental health, social interaction, etc I am also happy to work to provide some interventions and 1:1 time to support your child(ren). In addition, I can assist with regular babysitting work throughout the week (ie: after school/evenings) when/if my schedule allows depending on what you would require. I have excellent reference letters that I can provide to validate my down-to-earth, passionate, reliable, and dedicated personality. Again, I am looking to be a CYC for your family/child(ren).
