Sitter in Whitney, Texas

Looking to start immediately. Need a minimum of 40 hours per week willing to work with you on hours based on your location and pay rate. Hi name is Marie Huffman, a mom to two daughters (18 going to college in FL and 14 year old who lives at a therapeutic school year round. I have worked with children since I was 14 years old. I started watching a 2 year old 25 hours a week and going on family vacations with them. I watched my nieces and nephews at various times over the years. I volunteered in our church nursery, ones and twos rooms for over 2 years, lead teacher at Austin Montessori school in infant room. Worked as a therapeutic foster parent for 15 years with children ranging from 2-19 boys and girls all with psychiatric needs. I have worked as a private nanny for a family with 2 children 7 year old downs syndrome girl and 9 year old boy. I am CPR/First Aid(can't find my card so may have to retake)/AED certified through 4/15. I was a certified lifeguard for 4 years but have let that expire. I believe in educating children at all times even in small ways like singing the a,b,c song at bedtime. I had my oldest reading by age 2 1/2, counting to over 100 by age 4. She entered kinder reading on a 1.5 level, knew basic math. I am not pushy or harsh about teaching but rather believe in a softer natural approach using everyday situations as learning moments. I like to take kids outside during the cooler times to get fresh air, play, go for a walk or swimming. When supplies are available crafts are always fun. If we are going to watch tv it needs to be educational like Sprout type tv shows but prefer to limit the time in front of a tv. I am not in to video games unless it is something like a leapster that only has educational games. I do know older children play these games and that is fine within reason. I do have experience with multiples but not as much so I did not listed it above. However, I have vast experience with working with more than one baby at time.
