I am a physically active, mother of 4 grown sons, retired teacher. Experience: 6 yrs. nanny/governess. (2yr. - 6-8 & 9-11 yr), (4 yrs- 2 sets of twins 1 yr & 3 yr for 4 years, total of 7 children in family), multiple newborns. I have taught; Nursery School; Public School 7,8th self contained, at risk, all subjects; Sub, K-12. I have been a Charter H.S. Admin. & teacher 9,10,11.... all subjects. My certifications/licenses have/do include: TEFL; AZ /K-14 Teachers Cert.; First Aid; First Responder; CPR; AZ Real Estate, and Private Pilots. I Managed stand-up comics, & booked rooms for 9 yrs. Staff & activities coordinator/owner/operator of my Tucson B&B, 1998- 20.... AZ property now an eco non-profit. I Mt. bike, hike, ride horses, ski, swim, & a plethora of other sports. I know a lot of flora & fauna, love to teach, sing, dance, sew, travel, read, play games, crafts, bake, learn, & laugh. I eat organic foods when possible. My strongest qualities: I like people; teaching; organization; I am a baby and child magnet; I know my audience; how to re-prioritize; am honest, have integrity, & humor. Loving & preparing children for life is paramount. They will be taught age appropriate, care of themselves, their surroundings, dress, manners, diet, exercise/sports, computer skills, basic food prep./baking, crafts, singing, dance, pet care, & household/family responsibilities. I can prepare healthful foods, believe in proper sleep, exercise, planing ahead, consistency, positive reinforcement & lots of hugs. The parents set the schedule, parameters, goals, & general expectations, as the children grow, I am the facilitator of the outline they create. Consequences for negative actions will not be physical. Parents usually have a very clear vision as to what non-corporal disciplinary techniques they want used. I adhere to them. Children need to want approval, before they will try to get it. I treat them with respect as I teach them to respect, be polite to them as I teach them manners, & so on. I talk & listen to them. Newborns? I love newborns and infants. It seems they feel it, and respond to me accordingly. Helping them through the first couple of weeks while their little bodies are learning to breath air, process nutrition, and deal with their new world outside of the perfect comfort of the womb, is different with each one, and an amazing transition to bare witness. They change daily in appearance, awareness and abilities. Newborn to a walking, talking person in two years. How awesome is that?
