Hello my name is Akiko and I love working with babies, toddlers, and children. I am a mother to a 2.5 year-old boy and a 6 month-old baby girl. I'm looking to watch another little one here at my home here in Lakewood, though I am willing to give child care at the family's home as well. I have worked in a daycare and with individual families. Also I've watched my niece since she was born and she is now 7 years old. I have also worked in the nursery at my church with 1 - 3-year-olds. My philosophy for working with children is to let everything be a learning experience through playing, reading, or activities. I am also a Christian and my beliefs influence every area of my life including my professions. I love teaching kids about the love of Christ through singing songs, reading, prayer, and just by loving them! I understand the strategy of distracting a crying baby and redirecting them. I also work with special ed students in Denver Public Schools as a para professional for the past 9 years. I am more than willing to provide references.
