Sitter in Dallas, Texas

My husband and I are moving to the Dallas-Ft.Worth area in the coming months (between March and May 2018 — earlier, depending on the right employment opportunity!) from Fayetteville, AR as a result of his recent promotion. I have worked exclusively as a private nanny for the past three years. Prior to going private, I was a Lead Montessori Teacher for children 18-36 months, and a Montessori Center Director for a non-profit private infant/Toddler and Children’s House (children birth to age six). My experience as a nanny goes back to 1999, when I worked my way through college as a nanny in Malibu, CA. I graduated from Pepperdine University in 2002 with a B.A. in English/Writing and Rhetoric. Additionally, I am a trained Montessori Guide (including Masters level work) with a specialization in children ages 0-3. I have worked extensively with families as a newborn care provider and have experience with sleep training, supporting nursing mothers, and preparation of the child’s environment. I am an active care-giver and provide gross- and fine-motor activities in addition to language, math, science, art/creativity, and social-emotional development opportunities for children of all ages. I believe strongly in the power or play, music, talking to children from the start, and nurturing imagination and creativity. I strive to meet children of all ability types and kinds where they are, at their current level, encouraging their strengths and creating unique opportunities to strengthen developing skills and talents. I have enjoyed working with children with special and unique physical, emotional, and intellectual needs, and love seeing them flourish and thrive in their own ways, at their own pace. I have worked with high-profile families (Executives, CEOs, Athletes, and Film and Television, etc. )and am very familiar and comfortable with protecting the privacy of families and their children and meeting the unique needs of parents who receive a lot of public attention. I am CPR and First Aid Certified. I have travelled with families and am comfortable with and prepared for domestic and international travel, as needed. I am comfortable with and have driven children in my care often. I have a clean driving record (over 20 years as a licensed driver), a 2015 five-star safety rated vehicle, and full-coverage insurance. I am also comfortable driving the family vehicle, as-needed, and have done so in the past. I am seeking a permanent, salaried, or full-time position.
