Hello, My name is Madeline McLaughlin. I recently graduated from NYU where I studied Film and Television Production, as well as, Anthropology. I babysat a young girl from when she was 6 to 9, everyday after school for two hours. I also worked as a camp counselor for five years at Snipes Farm Day Camp. I worked with kids from ages 5-13. I taught cooking and craft classes independently with groups ranging between 10 and 30 kids. I love working with kids and my goal as a babysitter and camp counselor was not only to help and teach but for the kids to be able to teach others. The greatest achievement was when I could teach a child a craft like knitting, for example, and they would be willing to teach their friends and those friends could teach their friends and so on. In my experience in childcare, I do not simply wish to watch a child but engage with them and teach them skills and knowledge for later in life.
