Full Time Live-out position available 1) Morning Nanny: 6:45 a.m. -- 1:00 p.m. Monday -- Friday 2) Afternoon Nanny: Mon, Fri 11:00 a.m. -- 6:30 p.m., Tues, Wed, Thurs 1:30 p.m. -- 6:30 p.m * Babysitting in evenings (some optional, some required based on schedule -- arranged in advance) * Flexibility for weekends, overnights and summer travel Special needs as well as typical developing childcare experience is mandatory! School age boy: (Smith-Magenis Syndrome, can be challenging, emotional and cognitive delays) Young girl: typical developing child Candidates need to have experience with behavioral management, and the ability to assist with household management. Experience and comfort working with children who require some level of physical, emotional and social support. Desired Qualifications: 2 to 5 years of experience Caring for 2 children at a time College degree First Aid Training, CPR, Special Needs Care Cooking/Meal Preparation, Laundry, Errands, Carpooling, Light Housekeeping, Travel Personal Attributes Self-motivated Patient Professional Organized, clean (organizes kids ' stuff, especially playroom and rooms) Good communicator (willing to communicate issues before they become major problems) Willing to "pitch-in " Proactive (sees an issue and addresses) Problem solver High energy Ability to set clear limits Children Skills Challenges them to grow Firm, able to offer discipline Anticipates their needs Other Special needs, behavior therapy skills (strong ability to deal with a special needs child). Also needs to have background working with typical developing children as well. Important to understand behavior management. Ability to teach kids (looking for long-term teaching capabilities, help with homework if parents are not at home). Education background is helpful and ideal. English as a first language - important to model correct use of language. Household management skills (ability to cook for the kids and family two times a week, food shopping, buy clothes for the kids, etc.) Schedule flexibility Has good driving record, can drive around Boston. Nanny needs to be excited about working in a team environment - coordinating each day on duties regarding kids and household.
