Sitter in Springfield, Missouri

I am a stay-at-home mother of five children with a Bachelor degree in Secondary Education. For the past four years, I have taught preschool in my home. I also have more than 10 years experience working with and teaching Sunday school classes ranging from 18 months to 18 years old. Now that my youngest child has started kindergarten, I am seeking the opportunity to earn some extra money while continuing to care for children. My philosophy of parenting and childcare is that children need a safe and structured environment where they can freely learn and explore the world around them and develop their social, physical, and intellectual abilities. I believe in the importance of having story time, craft time, educational activities and imaginative play opportunities. I know that stability and routines are key in helping create this type of environment. Because of this, I would prefer to watch your child/children in my own home where I have the resources and ability to provide that structure, but I may be able to watch children from your home depending on the hours and expectations. I do not run a daycare center and do not plan on taking in children from multiple families. I prefer to find one family whose needs match the quality and individualized care I can provide.
